Photograph to come Shot list for this slot: the current cast on the set, taken from the fourth or fifth row of the house during a dress rehearsal, house lights down and stage lights up. Landscape, roughly 1600 by 900. A production still, not a posed group photograph on the church steps.

The 2026 Season

Six productions. Reservations open about four weeks before each opening.

Adults $12. Students and anyone over 65, $8. Children under six are welcome at the July show and at nothing else, which is a decision made about the plays and not about the children.

About the Building

The playhouse was built in 1903 as a church and has been a theatre since 1980. The pews came out, the chancel became the stage, and the balcony stayed exactly where it was. It seats 148, and about thirty of those seats are in that balcony.

There is no lift. The balcony is reached by one staircase and the ground floor is level with the pavement at the north door. Two spaces at the back of the ground floor have no fixed seat and take a wheelchair. Ring the box office and one of them is yours.

The building is old enough that the heating takes an hour to reach the balcony in December. Bring a layer to the Christmas show. Everyone who has been coming a while already does.

Photograph to come Shot list for this slot: the exterior at dusk with the marquee lit, taken from across the street so the whole 1903 facade and the bell tower are in frame. Wide, roughly 1600 by 600.

Auditions

Auditions are open. You do not need an appointment, a headshot, a monologue, or any previous experience. You turn up on the evening, you read from the script in your hands, and you find out within the week.

If you would rather build the set than stand on it, say so when you ring. That is the harder job to fill and it is the one we ask about first.
